Trans-Nzoia: Natembeya's Message During Mashujaa

The County Government of Trans Nzoia will begin distributing milk to all ECDE centers starting next term. Governor George Natembeya explained that the initial supplier, who had begun distribution earlier this year, lacked the capacity to meet the demand.

Governor Natembeya stated that out of the Ksh.70 million allocated for the program, the supplier only delivered milk worth Ksh.7 million, leaving Ksh.63 million unused.
Speaking on Sunday at Kapkoi Primary School during this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, the governor said his administration would continue providing free seeds to farmers until food stability is achieved. He also promised that all county roads will be graded and murramed.

Additionally, the governor pledged to start piping and supplying water in Kwanza Subcounty following the successful completion of the Kolongolo-Kiptogot water project.

In this fiscal year, Natembeya said his government has increased the allocation of the Nawiri Fund to Ksh.100 million, up from Ksh.80 million last year. "I am happy that more than 250 groups benefited from the kitty last year, and we encourage more to apply in order to improve their economic status," he said.

Governor Natembeya also assured that all markets currently under construction will be completed once the supplementary budget is approved by the county assembly. Upon completion, he promised that market spaces would be fairly allocated across all 25 wards.
He further urged striking nurses to return to work immediately, warning that failure to comply would result in the recruitment of new nurses starting next week.
