Transnzoia: Natembeya Brings Tittle Deeds, Easen land Tussle

On land tenure, the lack of title deeds has been posing a serious implications to Transnzoia County development through the following ways:
• The lack of title deeds prevents most of the population from
 accessing credit facilities
that could be used to boost agricultural productivity.
• The lack of title deeds depresses demand for rural land as potential
buyers do not want to negotiate the complexities of proving ownership thus lowering the exchange value of some of the most productive land in the County.
• The lack of legal ownership proof also makes it difficult for owners
to come together and combine smaller pieces of land into a big block that can be more effectively to
 attract capital investment.
• The lack of titles also makes it difficult for industries that could
process farm produce to be set up in the county.

Once Governor George Natembeya takes over the County Leadership, he will work together with the National Government to ensure that no home in Transnzoia County lacks tittle deeds.
